Festive Greetings – Dec 2023

A big shout out to everyone who has assisted Friends of Hwange not only in the past few weeks, but throughout 2023. As you are aware, the situation in Hwange National Park has been extremely dry and very tough in recent weeks. Without your support things could have been much worse.

The good news is that the past few days have brought a bit of widespread rain, which has cooled things down, provided instant relief and has gone a little way to re-plenishing the water in a few of the pans. Some of the elephant herds have felt confident enough to tentatively embark on their annual migration towards the south.

We have donors that provide us with exceedingly generous funding annually, we have those that send a regular monthly amount, and we have those that support us as and when they can. Without these funds, FOH would not exist, and the situation in the park would be very bleak indeed. We are mindful to make sure that every dollar received is used to best advantage. To one and all we extend our most grateful, heartfelt appreciation.

As the sun sets on 2023, we wish you all a wonderful, festive, holiday season and a happy, healthy, and wild 2024.
